The three-year degree course in Nursing (L/SNT1) aims to train future nurses in the field of nursing sciences and qualify them for the profession. The nurse is a professional responsible for general nursing care of a technical, relational and educational nature aimed at developmental, adult and geriatric ages.

Enrollment in the course of study takes place after passing a specific entrance test, in accordance with the provisions of national legislation for degree courses in health professions with limited enrollment and the University announcement.
The Degree in Nursing from LUM University allows you to acquire the skills required by the Ministerial Decree. Ministry of Health 14 September 1994 n. 739, (professional profile of the nurse), by law 42/99, by law of 10 August 2000 n. 251, and subsequent amendments and additions as well as by the Nurse’s Code of Ethics.
The three-year degree course in Nursing allows you to understand the physiological and pathological processes of the human body and to acquire technical, educational and relational nursing science skills. This knowledge is aimed at identifying and evaluating the care needs of both the individual and the community, as well as planning nursing care and establishing a therapeutic relationship with people of all ages and with increasingly complex health problems.
The teaching activity of the LUM Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is carried out using both traditional and interactive methods at the Acquaviva delle Fonti (BA) headquarters. The theoretical lessons are accompanied by small group laboratory activities, carried out with active teaching methodologies such as role playing and low, medium and high intensity simulation. The student’s training is completed by internship activities carried out mainly within the relevant healthcare facilities (hospital and local), alongside appropriately trained internship guides, through which 60 university training credits (CFU) are acquired, out of the 180 expected in the three-year period.
Part of the credits of the Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing can be acquired in other European universities with international exchange programmes.
The three-year degree course in Nursing has qualifying value and allows – after registration with the Professional Order – to carry out the activity in healthcare facilities, public or private, in the territory and in home care, as an employee or as a freelancer, both in Italy and in the countries of the European Union. The profession offers a high employment rate, with significant job opportunities also abroad.
After the three-year degree in Nursing it is possible to continue your education at a university level through specialization courses, first level Masters, master’s degrees in Nursing and Midwifery Sciences. Possession of a master’s degree allows access to a second level master’s degree and a research doctorate.
