The Master’s Degree in Management Engineering (LM-31), which will be launched starting from the Academic Year 2024/2025, aims to train the professional figure of the Management Engineer for Digital Innovation. This professional is capable of responding to the growing need to activate and manage innovation processes through the analysis, design, and management of complex organizational projects and systems that integrate technology, economics, and organization.
The Master’s Degree in Management Engineering educates the Management Engineer who plays a central role in modern public and private companies, in line with the vision of Industry 5.0 which proposes the evolution of industrial processes and organizational innovation in terms of digital transformation, sustainable transition, and the centrality of humans in the organizational dynamics of value creation.
In 2021, the European Commission released the strategic orientation report titled “Industry 5.0: A Transformative Vision for Europe – Governing Systemic Transformations towards a Sustainable Industry,” which outlines the development guidelines for modern public and private organizations towards adopting the Industry 5.0 model. This development perspective, which builds on other guiding documents such as the 2019 “European Green Deal” and the 2020 “A New Industrial Strategy for Europe,” serves as a benchmark for understanding both the challenges of modern organizations and the need for developing new professional figures. This perspective is foundational and forms the informative basis considered in the design of the Master’s Degree in Management Engineering.
The Master’s Degree in Management Engineering offers professional career opportunities primarily as managers and designers of the development of processes and products/services of companies in both the public and private sectors. This is possible thanks to the acquisition of in-depth knowledge in the management of organizational systems, governing technological and organizational transformation projects, managing informational and industrial systems, and the course’s strong scientific-engineering background, focused on digital and sustainable change.
The Management Engineer also has the opportunity to find employment in any work environment characterized by complex processes where the application of new technologies, technological innovation management, entrepreneurial skills, and sustainability are crucial. This makes the Specialist Degree in Management Engineering suitable for various industrial sectors.
The Master’s Degree in Management Engineering program meets the need to complete the educational cycle for students who have graduated in the Bachelor’s Degree in Management Engineering L-9 and aims to meet the demand from the workforce for a professional figure capable of managing digital transformation processes and sustainable transition of modern organizations.
