The Bachelor’s degree programme in Business Economics and Organization (BEO, degree class L18), is taught entirely in English and aims to train a professional figure with the necessary skills to understand the dynamics of companies and operate globally. The three-year degree programme includes a combination of technical know-how, management skills and leadership qualities essential to succeed in today’s competitive market.
In the first two years, the degree programme aims to develop solid skills in business administration, accounting, management, marketing, organisation, planning and control, and finance, which are the cornerstones of a sound business education. At the same time, the course includes classes in economics, IT, maths, statistics, and comparative law to ensure solid basic preparation from an international perspective. The third year, on the other hand, is aimed at deepening subjects that will further shape the student’s professional profile from an international perspective and provide them with more specific skills in competitive strategy, digitalisation, and sustainability, in line with the competitive environment. The student can complete their training path by choosing specific courses corresponding to the professional reference profile.
The degree path includes laboratories, internships, and opportunities for students to establish links and network contacts with companies through seminars, workshops and company presentations. In addition, the programme features seminars that are organized annually and aim to develop transversal skills such as public speaking, professional writing, and the ability to work on projects and in teams. The program also offers seminars focusing on core skills for entering the world of work, including CV writing and interview preparation.
A remarkable aspect of the course is the delivery of some distance learning training activities. The course is open to active teaching, which also allows for the trialling of flipped classroom activities, focus groups and/or discussion groups. This approach aims to coordinate and guide student learning, ensuring articulated and flexible use. The implementation of e-activities to enrich the regular in-person classes is also encouraged. These include interactive activities that foster student participation through innovative approaches and virtual laboratories.
Curricular internships are planned to enrich the skills acquired by promoting direct contact with the business and professional world, also in an international dimension, as has been strongly recommended by the stakeholders consulted through formal and informal meetings.
Offering classes in English and with an international perspective will also attract students from different countries and promote a diverse and multicultural class that will enrich the students’ learning process. At the same time, it will be possible to train professionals who are better suited to the demands of the world of work and able to face the challenges and take advantage of the opportunities that arise in the social and economic environment. The didactic approach will focus on innovative methods, alternating theoretical sessions with practical activities so that students can develop solid knowledge and management skills; at the same time, it will also encourage their engagement and active participation in learning processes aimed at developing relational skills. This three-year educational pathway will enable students to acquire the knowledge, technical tools and skills necessary to work proactively in the international business environment in a variety of roles, both in private companies and in public administration, including in positions of responsibility.
The degree program provides students with a solid background that allows them to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to continue their studies by enrolling in a Master’s degree programme in economics in Italy or abroad. The professionals trained by the course will have a significant impact in the national and international context, as they
– support the competitiveness of companies by favouring growth paths and the geographical expansion of markets in a global context, as well as the participation in projects, trade agreements and partnerships at an international level;
– increase the attractiveness of the local territory for investments by multinational companies looking for qualified professionals who can support growth processes and business development.
The programme also aims to increase the presence of international students in our local area and provide them with a global academic experience to improve the university’s international visibility within the academic landscape. In addition, the programme aims to establish partnerships with renowned academic institutions worldwide to provide students with the opportunity to obtain double degrees or joint degrees in collaboration with top foreign institutions. In this way, the curriculum aims to create a stimulating academic environment that allows students to acquire advanced skills and prepare them for a successful global career.
