LUM Departments

Departments are the scientific structures responsible for the organization and management of study and research activities within the University. They represent the environment in which teaching and research are mutually integrated to promote the development and advancement of scientific activities in various teaching areas, which may be homogeneous in terms of objectives and methodologies. In order to fulfill their institutional duties, departments enjoy organizational and administrative autonomy, under the supervision of a Director and a Department Council. Additionally, they welcome, upon request, professors and researchers from related fields of interest.

The Department of Medicine and Surgery employs educational models aimed at training modern professional figures who are updated on new discoveries and technologies in the biomedical and healthcare field, ensuring adequate skills projected towards the future in diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic approaches.

The Department offers two training paths for the main healthcare professional figures: the Physician (Master’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery) and the Nurse (Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing). These figures develop through a training path rooted in the fundamental values of scientific evidence and research.

LUM University has established the Department of Engineering. The decision to create a Department was the natural result of a development project, born from the constant dialogue between the University and the world of work. A journey that began in 2021 with the birth of the three-year Bachelor’s degree in Management Engineering, followed this year by the start of the three-year Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering for Digital Transition, which will be enriched next year with the Master’s degree in Management Engineering.
